I feel that the purpose of the assessments is clear...to me. I am not always clear with my 1st graders what the purpose is or with learning targets. I have already started putting daily learning targets on our daily schedule. I saw a difference right away. I forsee time as being the only roadblock. I am a perfectionist and it usually takes me a while to get things the way I feel they need to be. So spending my time making sure, "Is this the worded the right way? Do I need to change the way that target is stated?" is going to take me a little bit of thinking.
I hear ya Bobbi about the perfectionist part. I struggled with trying to do a learning target for every subject, every day, right out of the gate. I wish I had started with one subject at then expanded as I got comfortable. Plus, it was a lot for the students to take in.
